About
Concert
Chapel Arts Centre, formerly known variously as The Central Club, then Window Arts Centre and more recently, Invention Studios, re-opened over two years ago with a lot more than a new name. It is now firmly established as Bath’s alternative arts venue and we present an eclectic array of events as you will see. The well kitted out venue holds 220 people standing, 150 seated theatre style and 110-130 seated at cabaret style tables. We have a superb, solid and smooth oak wood floor, a state-of-the-art lighting system and truss, and the fantastic natural acoustic of the room (best in Bath!) which is augmented by an excellent sound system with a professional 28:8:2 channel Soundcraft mixing desk with more outboard than you could shake a stick at.
State of Undress
There is now a permanent and well stocked bar with many local and organic drinks and a choice of 9 wines, and the Clive Arts Cafe area downstairs has been fully refurbished which serves tasty and wholesome designer flatbreads – all created by Sarah Jenkins of Scoffs fame, plus a range of excellent & mouth-watering cakes and desserts many of which are vegan & gluten free!
The Garden
We operate as a community arts centre, serving all of the various residents and visitors in Bath and its environs. We have taken as our remit the function of presenting as wide a range of the performing arts as possible, including music of all kinds (except the very loud!), theatre, dance, comedy, film, mime, poetry and multimedia combinations of all the above and more. We are able to offer workshops and provide a space for rehearsals and learning experiences of all kinds. We are also available during the day for presentations, workshops, meetings & seminars.
Main Hall
Chapel Arts is available for hire by organisations and independent promoters with programs that fit into our overall artistic policy – a policy which is very broad but with the Arts firmly at its heart.
