Rachel Harrington
Rachel Harrington

Seattle country-soul sensation Rachel Harrington is the rising star of Americana, who is keeping the ancient art of the musical storyteller alive. The source of her inspiration comes from her early life in a strict Pentecostal family in Oregon & her musical influences, including gospel music & her father’s secret soul record collection, which she would listen to when the family were out at church. Rachel will be accompanied by the inimitable Rod Clements, solo singer-songwriter and master slide guitarist and Bert Jansch collaborator and producer, dobro guru and Lindisfarne founder member whose illustrious credentials read like a who’s who of the folk-roots world.

Featuring:
Rachel Harrington - Rachel Harrington comes from a Pentecostal upbringing in the state of Oregon; country, to be sure, but listening to her you'd think it was Appalachia in 1934, so convincing is her traditional song writing and her plaintive singing. This is not an affectation, it shows, as in Cormac McCarthy's novels, how close the past is to the present out in the country. In Rachel's songs the story comes first, but the music isn't far behind with her lovely voice and the stellar cast of musicians that accompany her on her just released second album, City of Refuge
